If you want a beautiful space with a retreat-like ambiance to hold your yoga or dance class, consider renting Center for Transformative Change in Berkeley CA. Originally a tea house that was converted to a Korean Zen temple, the free-standing practice hall is simply beautiful – and stands for an important cause. We interviewed Melissa Carter, Hospitality Steward at Center for Transformative Change to learn more about their gorgeous rental space.
What is the Center for Transformative Change?
Center for Transformative Change is the physical home of the nationally-based organization Transformative Change. Transformative Change (XC) is the first national center entirely dedicated to bridging the inner and outer lives of social change agents, activists and allies to support a more effective, more sustainable movement of social justice for all.
We believe that when agents of change are supported in living more balanced lives, they are empowered to create more effective, lasting change in the world.
What classes do you offer?
We offer weekly meditation, yoga, and embodiment practice. We also often have workshops, concerts, and classes held in our space that are open to the public. Check out our schedule at center.transformativechange.org.
What is special about your space?
In addition to our practice hall being an incredibly beautiful space that can be used for a variety of events, what is so special about the practice hall is that we endeavor to make it available to as many as possible in the spirit of creating a viable space for community gathering, learning and advancement of transformation, wellbeing/healing and social justice and work that lies at the intersection of these areas.
What types of activities can it be rented for?
We are open to hosting a variety of events in our space. Our space has been rented for yoga & meditation, company retreats, Weddings gatherings, photo shoots, events and workshops.
